The World Race has been nothing like I expected it to be.

Its been so much more and the Lord has been moving like CRAZYYY!!

I’ve had the opportunity to spend 5 days in Gainesville with my squad a long with some other squads who are launching as well now in January. The biggest take away from training camp and something that was talked about a whole lot is the action of ‘remembering’.

Remember: Having in or be able to bring one’s mind an awareness of someone who has seen

Something that I learned these past couple of days is that remembering isn’t passive, it is an action that brings the power of Jesus into our lives and others. As we remember what He has done, it enables us to stop focusing on impossibility and instead focus on the God who does the impossible. Remembrance runs through the bible so many times, its kind of cool!!!

Let me share a story with you!

God sent a rainbow after the flood to remember His covenant that ‘never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life’ ( Genesis 9:15)

Over and over we see God creating ways to remember His works.

He wants us to live in remembrance.

Putting remembrance into action might be hard for some people but Psalms 77 sums it up perfectly. The psalmist start in a place of hopelessness. Then he decides to ‘remember the deeds of the Lord’. He meditates on God’s miracles and mighty acts. This lead to an outpouring of praise and worship as he recalled the glory of God. He started writing not from a place of distance and despair, but a place of hope and remembrance.

By recalling what God has done for us and for others, faith is RESTORED, joy is uncovered, and our hearts turn from despair to PRAISE. The following Psalm encourages us to teach future generations about Jesus. We have all the power to inspire and influence children and even their children by being in a constant act of remembrance with what the Lord has done in our lives.

Something I’ve learned about myself is that in the hard seasons I’m very quick to forget. As I go about my daily life, it’s so easy to fall into “I’m busy” lifestyle but we forget that a Sovereign God has put together all of our days for us. If we don’t fight against it we will by default forget that this is His day, that He has made. When we choose to remember we are taking an active stance looking for what He is doing that might not be visible on our first glance at our Heavenly Father. Remembering brings me hope!! As I look back over the course of my life or even these past few days, I’m able to see in retrospect what I might not have been able to see at the moment. I see that no matter what the circumstance is that the Lord really works for my own good, for the development, of my individual faith and for His glory. When I find myself in the midst of difficulty in the present, remembering gives me hope because I’m reminded that God has never once abandoned me. He has never not once been there for me.

To end this blog because I’m on the plane headed to South Africa and I’m tired haha, don’t assume it’ll happen on its own. Obey the commands of the Lord!!

In the midst of the hard seasons and even the easy ones, pause and let your mind and heart go back.

Remember and be lifted up!!!

With a lot of love,

C ??

One response to “From Despair to Praise <3”

  1. THIS IS SO GOOD!! Thank you for these words that are drenched in truth. The way we remember and share about what God has done in our lives will truly bring REVIVAL! Thank you for demonstrating that so well!
