Hi!! My name is Chiara. Let’s get this straight I’ve never known and will never know how to write an about me page for the sole reason that I have no idea how to summarize myself as a person in a couple of paragraphs. To say it easier I don’t know what to write.
But to me, nothing is worth more than a picture, so here we go…
This is me. I was born in Guatemala and have lived in three different countries (Guatemala, Argentina, and the US) which I like to think has shaped me into who I am today. At the moment I live in Tampa, Florida with my wonderful family.
Right now youre probably thinking to yourself “Their family is so big it must be crazy in their household” well you thought right but we manage. My family is big, crazy, encouraging, supportive and way too loving. I come from a blended family, but it would take too long to explain to you how we’re all related and who comes from who. All you have to know is that there is one word to explain this and it’s family. They support me in anything and everything and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.
If you couldn’t already tell by the picture my mom is where my Argentine side comes from. She is inspiring, generous, compassionate, big-hearted and I wouldn’t trade her for the world. She’s taught me so many things in these 17 years of life but the most important in my opinion is shes taught me to know my worth and for that, I couldn’t be more thankful. Way too proud to say that I’m her daughter.
This is my crazy, supportive and loving father. If you couldn’t already tell by this picture he’s the one I get my looks from, you can’t imagine how many times a day I get ” Oh my goodness you look so much like your dad”. I don’t know if I could agree but his name is Giancarlo and he is the greatest dad a girl could ask for. He’s taught both my sisters and I how we should be treated by other male figures and has shown us, unconditional love.
This is my step-dad, the most loving and compassionate person on this earth. He’s taking me in as one of his own and that is something I will be forever thankful for. He’s taught me that God’s always got a plan for me and even when things go wrong to keep on trusting because he is good. He has unconditional love and I will be forever thankful for everything he does and continues to do for our family.
These are my 3 out of my 5 favorite nuggets in the whole wide world. These are my three beautiful sisters. Yes, we’ve had our fights but I wouldn’t trade the relationships we have for absolutely anything. They are forgiving, compassionate, loving, graceful (even when they trip and fall) but most importantly like everyone else in the family super supportive of me and my crazy ideas.
Aren’t they just the cutest. Let me introduce you their names are Beatrix, James, Roman, and Matteo and they are my best friends.
Ok ok , enough about my wonderful family…..!!
The picture on the left is me and my best friend. She is the most loving and encouraging person and if you know me I’m always with her so I don’t know how I’m going to leave her for 9 months…HAHAHA. The big group of people to the right is my young life group. Those are my people and I’m so happy I get to do crazy things and act like crazy people all while learning about the word of God.
Before I end this blog youre probably all thinking why I decided on the world race gap year well… The gap year was something I heard vaguely about when a girl from my high school named Emma Moody decided to go on this journey. My reason for going is to experience first hand the world God intended for us to live in, to give back to the kingdom. But I really cannot put it into words. I have been involved in church my whole life and feel as though before continuing my studies at the university level it would be an honor to serve the Lord in a different and exciting way like Gap Year.
Well, this is all for my first blog, I’m super excited about this current and future seasons in my life where I get to spread the word of Jesus in unimaginable ways.
